Important Installation Tip
For the strongest hold, adjust your elastic cords correctly after installing your garage door cover:
• Fully extend each cord
• Hook the cord lower, not higher
• Keep the cord slightly loose, not overly tight
When cords are stretched too tightly upward, they create unnecessary downward tension on the top attachment points. Proper cord adjustment helps keep the Velcro strips firmly secured and allows your cover to remain smooth and properly positioned.
Extra Pro Installation Tip
For an even stronger hold at the top, try this installation method:
1. Open your garage door fully.
2. Using a ladder, apply the Velcro strips along the very top edge of the garage door panel.
3. Attach the top of the cover to the Velcro while the garage door remains open.
4. Close the garage door completely.
Once closed, the top of the cover sits behind the weather seal and is pressed against the door frame, creating a locked-in effect. This helps prevent the cover from slipping down and provides the strongest possible hold.
